On October 12-14 in 2023, the staff of the Primakov Centre took part in the XV Convention of the Russian Association for International Studies (RAIS) and the Festival of Best practices of universities participating in the “Priority 2030” program PriorityFest.

Leading Russian and foreign scientists and representatives of the educational and research community discussed socio-economic, political and legal trends in the formation of a new world order. Representatives of Russian universities, analysts and experts in the field of international relations discussed current world problems, tasks and key landmarks of Russia in scientific and educational and research practice. The Program included plenary sessions and thematic sections, which were attended by more than 800 participants.

As part of the general program of the Convention, the ASEAN Center at MGIMO University MFA of Russia organized a conference “Russia and ASEAN in the Asia-Pacific Region: Dynamics of Cooperation, Regional Processes and Global Context”, dedicated to the 5th Anniversary of Russia-ASEAN Strategic Partnership.

Speaking at the conference, Minister for Integration and Macroeconomics of the Eurasian Economic Commission Sergey Glazyev noted that the EEU and ASEAN countries have economic connectivity and complementarity, which are a good foundation for the development of trade and economic cooperation in the long term. However, there is still a need to improve the partnership infrastructure, increase production and scientific and technical cooperation. Over the past 5 years since the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the EEC and ASEAN in the field of economic cooperation, close contacts have been established with the ASEAN Secretariat, which allows organizing major joint events on a regular basis to exchange integration experience and establish direct channels of interaction between business communities.
