On the 14-18 November, 2023 on the basis of the Samara branch of the Lebedev Physical Institute and the Samara National Research University named after Academician Sergey P. Korolev hosted the XXI All-Russian Samara Youth Competition-Conference of Scientific Works on Optics, Laser Physics and Lattice Physics, dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The scientific event was held in a hybrid: precision-remote format. Young researchers from Samara, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Irkutsk, Kazan, Krasnoyarsk, Saratov, Sarov, Troitsk, Utevka (Samara region), Ufa, and Chelyabinsk took part in the conference. Young scientists from Astrakhan, Vladivostok, Dolgoprudny, Izhevsk, Mozyr (Belarus), Nizhny Novgorod, Novosibirsk, Simferopol and Fryazino joined in the online format.
The opening of the conference took place on November 14 at the Regional Center for the Development of Public Diplomacy and International Relations named after Evgeny М. Primakov, at which the first vice-rector – vice-rector for research work of Samara University Andrey Prokofiev, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Samara Region Olga Lysikova, professor Department of Physics of Samara University, Director of the SF FIAN Valery Azyazov, as well as Executive Director of the Natural Science Institute of Samara University Anastasia Bukhanko.
Representatives of leading Russian universities presented the results of their research: National Research Nuclear University MEPhI, Moscow State University. M.V. Lomonosov, MIPT, St. Petersburg State University, Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University, Novosibirsk State University, Samara National Research University. Academician S.P. Queen and others, as well as academic institutions. It is important to note the wide representation of the Russian Academy of Sciences at the conference dedicated to its 300th anniversary: Physical Institute named after. P.N. Lebedev RAS, Institute of General Physics named after A.M. Prokhorov RAS, Physicotechnical Institute named after. A.F. Ioffe RAS, Main (Pulkovo) Astronomical Observatory of the RAS, Federal Scientific Research Center “Crystallography and Photonics” RAS Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics SB RAS, Institute of Nuclear Physics named after G.I. Budker SB RAS, Institute of Physics named after. L.V. Kirensky Federal Research Center KSC SB RAS, Institute of Applied Physics RAS, Institute of Mechanics of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Institute of Automation and Control Processes Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, etc.
113 competitive reports were made (72 oral and 41 posters) and 2 invited reports, 9 invited plenary lectures were given.
This year, along with the main section, which included reports on various areas of optics and laser physics, the long-standing traditional section “Biophotonics”, the conference featured new sections: “Quantum Technologies”, “Microfluidic Systems and Nanotechnologies”, “Physics and Chemistry of Space” and a section for schoolchildren. The expert commission determined the winners and runners-up in each section. The results of the XXI competition-conference were published on the website http://laser-optics.ru/
The Organizing Committee thanks all participants of the competition-conference and their scientific supervisors, experts, lecturers and invited speakers, and technical support group. Theses of the participants and annotations of invited lecturers were published in the Collection of Conference Proceedings.
