On April 23, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia Nikolai M. Vladimir visited the Primakov Center. Nikolay Vladimir is responsible for the Hungarian, North American and Latin American directions of our country’s foreign policy.
“In the 1990s, the Americans were interested in reformatting relations with our country, but the situation changed when we refused to follow their interests to the decimal point,”
Nikolay Vladimir spoke in detail about his work in Latin America, the organization of visits by the President of Russia to the countries of the region and work in intergovernmental commissions.
The students were also able to ask Nikolay Vladimir all the questions they had. For example, 2nd year student Anastasia Fatkhutdinova asked about the prospects for the development of cooperation between Russia and Latin American countries. Nikolai Vladimir said that the most promising area for cooperation is the economic one:
“Latin American countries are major buyers of mineral fertilizers. In addition, the export of education has great potential.”
The Primakov Centre thanks Nikolai M. Vladimir for a fascinating meeting and a book of memoirs “I saw it like this”, which can be read in the library of our Center.
