On May 21st 2024 Samara regional Model of The Shanghai Cooperation Organisation took place at the Regional Centre for Development of Public Diplomacy and International Relations named after Yevgeniy M. Primakov. It was organized by the Regional Centre for Development of Public Diplomacy and International Relations named after Yevgeniy M. Primakov supported by the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs. In this year Samara SCO model became Interregional and united students from three Russian regions. Among participants were students from Volgograd State University (VolSU), N.P. Ogarev Mordovia State University, and also from universities and schools of Samara Oblast.
The official opening of the SCO Model began with a greeting by President of Samara University Victor Aleksandrovich Soyepher, who wished the participants productive and successful work.
Then pro- rector of educational work and youth policy of Samara University Mikhail Leonov spoke to students. He emphasized the necessity of future model development in university to improve the competence of students in the sphere of international relations.
The head of department for investment, innovation policy and foreign economic relations of the Ministry of economic development and investment of Samara region Dmitry Abramov paid students attention:
«Our region has always been oriented towards the outer contour. Samara region is located at the intersection of European and Asian routes, being an important logistic centre».
Representative of MFA Russia in Samara Aleksei Chupakhin pointed out:
« The present day event will allow you to use the knowledge that you get today and the tools that you apply».
On behalf of the plenipotentiary representative of the President of Russian Federation in the Volga Federal district Igor Komarov winners of the Samara interregional SCO Model were awarded by the federal Inspector for Samar region Marat Yuryev. He also greeted the students..
«In the current geopolitical conditions and realities at the state level, great attention is paid to developing relations with our partners, including SCO. In the Volga Federal district relations with partners from China, India and Kazakhstan are actively developing. During the game, you have reproduced the work of SCO summit, acquired diplomatic, leadership, oratorical, language skills and have learned to compromise on the most significant issues for humanity – the counteraction of international terrorism and extremism in view of new diplomatic realities and the protection of international information security. I am sure that the gained experience will allow you to become successful diplomats in the future».

Special prize of the Regional Centre for Development of Public Diplomacy and International Relations named after Yevgeniy M. Primakov for high level of preparation was awarded Iranian delegation: Bakhmetieva Alina (Samara University), Triphonova Anastasia (Samara University), Sadykova Alina (Samara University).
