On May 29, the Primakov Center hosted a meeting of the Turkish club, which was devoted to the intricacies of business communication with Turkish partners.
What have we learned?
- Rush in negotiations with the Turks is disastrous! No issues can be resolved on the spur of the moment, and you need to be mentally prepared for this. Our: “Time is money” works a little differently here. You need to spend quite a lot of time “building bridges” and “building relationships” in order to get results later.
- Follow the formal rules and hierarchy.
- Turkish partners appreciate directness and sincerity, so discussing business issues is often accompanied by informal communication.
- At a meeting with Turkish partners, it is recommended to dress conservatively, but with elements of style.
- A nice gesture at a business meeting will be small gifts reflecting your culture.
- In the process of establishing trusting relationships with business partners, a business dinner plays a key role, where it is important to show interest in Turkish culture and traditions.
The meeting of the Turkish club was interesting and informative. The participants of the meeting learned a lot of useful facts about the peculiarities of business communication in Turkey. We are confident that this knowledge will be useful for successful business and establishing communication with Turkish partners.
Thanks to everyone who took part!
