On December 14, The Primakov Centre hosted the presentation of the documentary film “Black to USSR”, which was attended by the creator and director of the film Daria da Conceicao.

Vitaly Roshchupkin, Director of the Primakov Center, and Irina Manueva, Head of the T.A. Ivanova Center for Russian Cinematography, addressed the students with a welcoming speech.

The documentary project “Black to USSR”, filmed in Mozambique and South Africa, is dedicated to the fate of graduates of Soviet universities, many of whom played a prominent role in their countries. They remember their studies in Russia, sing Russian songs, follow the political agenda and confess their love for their second Homeland.

At the film presentation, the hero of the film, Prince of the Abatembo tribe in the Republic of South Africa, Siphive Dlomo, also spoke:

“Cultural exchange is the best diplomacy, I think there’s more to learn from each other, and will discover that there’s have more in common in humanity than what divides us”

The film aroused keen interest among students, despite the fact that it was created against all circumstances, as the author mentioned.

“We have good film and it needs to be watched!”, Daria da Conceicao summed up.

The film “Black to USSR” is an independent and author’s project, and today its promotion is supported by such partner organizations as the Alliance of Strategic Projects of BRICS, the International Charity Fund “Tree of Life”, Media “African Initiative”, and the Center for People’s Diplomacy.
