For several days, students, future diplomats, and international relations specialists have a unique opportunity to communicate with representatives of the professional diplomatic community on topical issues of the foreign policy agenda.
Russian and foreign diplomats, heads of departments of the Russian Foreign Ministry, experts and international scientists from MGIMO, MSU, St. Petersburg State University and other leading universities of our country take part in the events of the annual Week of Russian Diplomacy.
The Week of Russian Diplomacy is held in a mixed online/offline format and includes scientific events: conferences, lectures and seminars, and “round tables” designed for a wide audience, discussions and workshops on the history and modern problems of international relations.
With the support of the representative office of the Governor of the Samara Region under the President of Russia and the Government of the Russian Federation with Samara students Samaritans – students of MGIMO, MSU, St. Petersburg State University and other universities of Moscow and St. Petersburg participate in the Week of Russian Diplomacy in the online format.
In 2019, the guests of the Week of Russian Diplomacy were representatives of the Veterans Council of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation N.M. Vladimir and Associate Professor of the Department of International Relations of MEPHI E.M. Morozov.
In 2021, in the Week of Russian Diplomacy devoted to the issues of the pandemic influence on international relations and the development of public diplomacy took part Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs F.M. Mukhametshin, Chairman of the Council of Young Diplomats of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia K.O. Kolpakov, Chairman of the Council of the Association of Russian Diplomats I.V. Halevinsky, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Russian Federation V.N. Istratov, Consul General of the Republic of Cyprus in Samara Sophocleus Olimbiu Maria, Head of the Department of American Studies of the Faculty of International Relations of St. Petersburg State University N.A. Tsvetkova and many other experts, specialists and international scientists.
In 2022 the Week of Russian Diplomacy was devoted to the problems and prospects of integration processes in the modern world. Mukhametshin; Ambassador at Large, Head of the Secretariat of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum O.B. Ozerov; Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Ethiopia and Plenipotentiary Representative of the Russian Federation to the African Union E.E. Terekhin; Director for International Cooperation, “Russia Today” news agency V.V. Pushkov; Director of the Institute of Latin America of the Russian Academy of Sciences Dr. D.V.Razumovsky; Deputy Director of the Institute of Latin America of the Russian Academy of Sciences Dr. D.M.Rosenthal and many others.
During the 3rd Week of Russian Diplomacy was signed an agreement on cooperation in the scientific and educational spheres between Samara University and the Institute for Latin America of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The Regional Center for the Development of Public Diplomacy and International Relations named after E. M. Primakov and the Social-Humanitarian Institute will take part in joint projects on behalf of Samara University.
In 2023 the Week of Russian Diplomacy was devoted to the prospects of BRICS. Polikanov; Acting Director of the Institute of China and Modern Asia of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Ph.D. in Philological Sciences, Prof. K.V. In 2024, the Week of Russian Diplomacy was devoted to space diplomacy and was held with the participation of foreign colleagues, such as the representative of the Center for Information Science and Satellite Technologies of Myanmar, Ph.D. Aung Myo San, Professor of political science at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (Brazil), member of the Valdai Club, coordinator of scientific research at the Political Center BRICS Fabiano Melnichuk, MIPT graduate student Moussa Hosinou from Algeria, and Deputy Director General of Space Science and Geospatial Institute Bethlehem Nigussi from Ethiopia. In addition, the events were attended by Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs F.M.Mukhametshin, Director of the Department of International Cooperation of Roscosmos State Corporation T.Y. Today’s topic speeches were started by the Scientific Secretary of the Institute of the USA and Canada named after Academician G.A. Arbatov RAS Ph.D. in Political Sciences Andrey S. Evseenko. In his report, he emphasized that the tense relations of individual countries with the West do not affect the unification of the BRICS, because “the priority is to maintain the status quo”.

Cooperation between Brazil, India, China, Russia and South Africa is the main topic of the IV Week of Russian Diplomacy “BRICS-2023: New Challenges and Development Prospects in the Context of International Instability”, which started at Samara University at the Regional Center for Development of Public Diplomacy and International Relations named after Evgeniy M.Primakov
