On May 26, a festive awarding ceremony was held for the most active participants of the Samara Interuniversity Model of the United Nations. The winners were chosen by universal voting.
The Economic and Social Council chose Alice Kuptsova, a 4th-year student of Samara State University of Economics, as the best delegates. Kristina Zhukova, a delegate from Italy representing Samara University, received the title of the best speaker. Balyuk Olesya, a 3rd-year student of Samara University, was awarded for organizing the event.
The vice-rector for Educational Work of Samara University presented letters of thanks to the winning students of the UN Model, noting the importance of holding an event of this format, and wished the participants success in their scientific activities.
On May 12, the Samara interuniversity business game “Model UN” was held at the Regional Centre for the Development of Public Diplomacy and International Relations named after Yevgeniy M. Primakov. (northern site of Samara University, L-11).
Model UN is a synthesis of a scientific conference and a role–playing game, during which students reproduce the work of the United Nations, gain diplomatic, leadership, oratorical and language skills and the ability to come to a compromise.
The participants modeled the work of the ECOSOC committee. The main topic of the meeting was the problem of the impact of COVID-19 on the global economy.
