September 22, 2023 at the Primakov Centre held a meeting of foreign students and students of the preparatory department, employees of the international department of Samara University and representatives of the Directorate for Migration Issues of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Samara Region.

Currently, more than 800 foreign students and listeners from Turkmenistan, Egypt, Morocco, Cameroon, Gabon, Haiti, Sri Lanka, Lebanon, Syria and other countries are studying at our university.

The senior inspector of the migration control department paid special attention to issues of registration, travel to other regions of Russia, and employment. The inspector noted that students have the right to work during holidays and during free time from school, but only those who are studying full-time. At the same time, you can work if you have permits issued by the migration service. The subject of discussion at the meeting included migration rules, employment issues, issues related to residence permits and temporary residence permits.

Also, special attention was paid to the fact that the university, as the inviting party, has responsibilities to ensure that foreign students comply with the rules of stay in the Russian Federation in terms of compliance with the stated purpose of entry and their timely departure after the expiration of the period of stay.

Similar meetings are held regularly to prevent crimes committed by citizens of foreign countries. They are necessary for foreign youth, as they lead to an improvement in the socio-cultural adaptation of students to the conditions of the modern world and an increase in knowledge about migration legislation in Russia.

At the end of the meeting, foreigners were able to ask questions that interested them, to which detailed answers were received.
