From November 7 to 9, 2023, representatives of The Primakov Centre and students of international relations of Samara University took part in the educational program “Volgograd Study Week” of the Centre for Public Diplomacy of Volgograd State University.
The event was opened by the First Vice-Rector of Volgograd State University, doctor of economics, associate professor Valentin A. On the Samara side, the guests of the round table were welcomed by Vitaly G. Roschupkin, Director of The Primakov Centre.
Within the framework of the events, students were able to communicate with leading specialists in the field of international relations of Volgograd State University and discuss Russia’s place in the new geopolitical realities, peculiarities of development of public diplomacy projects in Central Asia, socio-humanitarian policy of the USA.
Volgograd Study Week participants also had a rich cultural program: excursions to the city and sights of Volgograd and, most importantly, acquaintance with Volgograd State University.
Liza Malikova about the internship:
“It was a productive trip. During the lectures we were told about the interaction of Central Asian and Caucasus countries with other states in the current realities. The topic of defining Russia’s place in the new geopolitical coordinates was also touched upon, which is quite relevant nowadays. In addition, there was an opportunity to communicate with experts and learn answers to questions of interest. Also, the historical fate of Volgograd and the peculiarities of ethnic culture of the peoples of the Lower Volga region were not left out, which they were very pleased to share with us”.
“The internship at Volgograd State University was probably one of the most important events for me during all 4 years of study. It gave me the opportunity to acquire not only unique knowledge, but also valuable experience of communication and cooperation with experts in the field of international relations”, – shared Andrey Chistyakov.
Such events are highly relevant for the students of our university. We hope that the upcoming events at The Primakov Centre will only strengthen cooperation between the two universities!
