During the week from 15th May to 19th May Samara National Research University named after academician Sergey P.Korolev is holding “ASEAN Week”, organized by the ASEAN Center of MGIMO together with the Regional Center for Development of Public Diplomacy and International Relations named after Evgeniy M.Primakov.
A number of educational and scientific events are planned within the framework of “ASEAN Week”. On May 15, Director of the ASEAN Center, Associate Professor of the Department of Oriental Studies Ekaterina V. Koldunova and experts of the Center Nikita S. Kuklin and Valeria V. Vershinina gave lectures to university students on protocol, etiquette and business communication with Southeast Asian countries.
On May 16, the ASEAN Inter-University Model was held, which was attended by more than 60 students from Samara University and other universities of Samara. On May 19, a presentation of ASEAN Center youth projects and an educational quiz will be held. To prepare for the ASEAN Model, ASEAN Center experts also held an online lecture-consultation for model participants on May 11. The events dedicated to ASEAN and Southeast Asia aroused great interest of students and faculty.
During the visit to Samara, the ASEAN Center delegation also held working meetings with Vice-Rectors of Samara University Mikhail M.Leonov and Victoria V.Bolgova. During the meetings they discussed directions of further cooperation between the ASEAN Center, the Primakov Center and Samara University.
