Thanks to the Primakov Centre, 9 international students of Samara University went to Moscow for internship in the leading scientific institutions of our country. During the internship on April 23, they visited the Federation Council.
The meeting was held jointly with a delegation from Volgograd State University.
The visit was supervised by Farit M. Mukhametshin, Deputy Chairman of the SF Committee on International Affairs and one of the founders of the Primakov Centre, Senator from the Samara Region.
The program of the visit included a tour of the historic building of the Federation Council, during which the future specialists in international affairs were also able to get acquainted with the exhibition “Russian student squads: the main labor movement of the country” opened on the day of the visit. Afterwards, the students had a chance to talk to senators – to learn firsthand the subtleties of the Russian parliament and the competence of the upper house, the role and tasks of the Council of Federation committees in the work to improve legislation and develop international cooperation in the parliamentary line.
Students asked senators questions on the topic of the Russian Federation’s foreign policy and its key priorities in the development of cooperation with the countries of the world, as well as asked to share their advice in choosing a professional path.
At the end of the meeting, Farit Mukhametshin shared his story of being a student and rejoiced that today’s international students have excellent opportunities for development, taking internships in scientific institutes of the Russian Academy of Sciences, MGIMO, Moscow State University and learning from the best specialists of the country.
