On April 18, 2024, the Primakov Center hosted a master class from experts from the ASEAN Center at MGIMO of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia Kira Tabunova and Mikhail Stepanishchev on the topic “How to quickly and efficiently write an article for a young international student?”

Kira Tabunova noted that an article written efficiently, quickly and cheaply is utopia:

“If you want to do a high-quality article, it will be long and expensive.”

Mikhail Stepanishchev spoke about the rules of working with news and digests. He listed 3 main criteria when working with news: relevance, reliability, conciseness. The text of the news should be literate, without grammatical errors. The speaker noted:

“The reputation of the media or an analytical center depends on the quality of news publications.”

Due to the uneven information flow, the large amount of information, the desire for brevity and the abundance of fakes, the digest was considered by the expert to be the most difficult work.

Kira Tabunova told about analytical comments, scientific articles and works. The expert drew attention to the fact that scientific work is the face of a scientist. She stressed:

“A comment is not just a retelling, but an analysis of a particular situation. A good comment should have a clear conclusion. The reader should understand what you meant in your conclusion.”

At the end of the master class of the ASEAN Center at MGIMO, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia thanked the Primakov Center for hospitality and wished success in scientific activities, expressed hope for further cooperation!

We emphasize that the library of the Primakov Center has been replenished with books donated by the ASEAN Center at MGIMO of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, for which many thanks!
