On March 5, a meeting of Samara University students with members of the Regional Department of the Russian Union of Veterans and the Samara City Council of Veterans took place at the Yevgeny Primakov Center in Samara as part of the “Big Talk about Important Things” project, supported by the Department of the Government of the Samara Region for Interaction with Federal Government Authorities. The project was launched by the Youth Council and the Association of Regional Youth at the beginning of 2024.
The event took the form of an “open microphone” format, where invited speakers greeted the students and shared their combat experience stories with the students of Samara University, who were able to ask them questions that interested them.
Responding to one of the students’ questions about demonstrating true patriotism, the Chairman of the Regional Department of the Russian Union of Veterans, Vladimir Nikolaevich Samokhvalov, noted that patriotism is not only love for the Motherland, but also pride in it, as well as pain for the shortcomings that we have
Guests also shared that the Regional Department of the Russian Union of Veterans helps soldiers at the front line. Since 2022, the regional department not only collects humanitarian aid for participants in military operations but also delivers it to the destination point.
The meeting concluded with words from Vladimir Nikolaevich Samokhvalov on the importance of unity of all people living in Russia.
