The events of the VI Regional Methodological Theoretical Seminar for students of higher educational institutions ‘Theoretical studies: methodology and principles of working with the text in the scientific works of Professor N.T. Rymar’ have been completed. The seminar was held on the basis of Samara University from 1 to 15 March 2025.

Professor Nikolai Timofeevich Rymar celebrated his 80th birthday on 15 March. It is symbolic that the final event of the theoretical seminar was held on his birthday. Congratulations and welcoming addresses from the Russian State University, SSPU were read out, and there were premieres of documentary films created by students about Professor N.T. Rymar and his students, as well as presentation of the ‘Experimental Dictionary of N.T. Rymar’s terms’ created by students of SSPU.

The seminar began its work on 1 March. Professor N.T. Rymar gave an open lecture on the novel and perspectivism in art (lecture recording). The event took place at the E.M. Primakov Regional Centre for the Development of Public Diplomacy and International Relations.

On 11 March in the online format there was a discussion and analytical reading of Nikolai Timofeevich Rymar‘s article ‘IRONY AND Mimesis: Towards the Problem of Artistic Language of the 20th Century’ from the collection ‘Irony and Parody’ of 2004. The event was organised and conducted by the Student Scientific Society of the Faculty of Philology and Journalism.

On 15 March the participants of the VI Regional Methodological Theoretical Seminar presented their research projects on the study of methodology and principles of work with the text in the scientific works of Professor N.T. Rymar. The works ‘Anna Karenina’ by L.N. Tolstoy and ‘An Evening at Claire’s’ by G. Gazdanov were chosen to analyse the novel structure. The teams defined the conceptual apparatus. Having read and analysed Professor N.T. Rymar‘s books during the preliminary preparation in January-February, the seminar participants were able to show the connection of literary concepts with each other and with the ideas of literary studies that preceded N.T. Rymar‘s theory. 

The experts of the seminar were teachers of the Department of Russian and Foreign Literature and Public Relations of Samara University (Head of the Department Dr. L.G. Tyutelova; Associate Professor K.A. Sundukova; Associate Professor Y.R. Garbuzinskaya; Associate Professor V.N. Garbuzinskaya; Ph, Senior Lecturer V.N. Ivanova) and teachers of the Department of Literature, Journalism and Teaching Methods of Samara State Social Pedagogical University (Doctor of Philosophy, Prof. E.V. Abramovskikh, Doctor of Philosophy, Prof. O.V. Zhurcheva, Doctor of Philosophy, Candidate of Philosophy, Associate Professor I.V. Nekrasova).
