Fourth-year students of the International Relations program at Samara University — Mikhail Nazarenko, Kseniya Tserkovnyuk, and Viktor Penkin — completed an internship at the G.A. Arbatov Institute for US and Canadian Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences, organized by the E.M. Primakov Centre.
ВоDuring the internship, the students had the opportunity to deepen their research on their graduation theses with the support of the country’s leading experts in American studies. They also attended the conference “100 Days of Lawmaking by D. Trump: Successes and Challenges of the New Administration” jointly organized by the G.A. Arbatov Institute for US and Canadian Studies and the Primakov National Research Institute of World Economy and International Relations of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
ТThis opportunity became possible thanks to the Regional Center for the Development of Public Diplomacy and International Relations named after E.M. Primakov, which actively collaborates with the Institute for US and Canadian Studies of the RAS
Mikhail Nazarenko shared his thoughts on the internship: «The internship at the Institute for US and Canadian Studies was extremely useful! I deepened my knowledge of U.S. foreign and domestic policy, had discussions with leading experts who helped clarify key questions. I especially appreciated the fruitful work with Larisa Germanovna Chuvakhina. I would also like to thank Andrey Sergeyevich Evseenko for his attentive mentorship. This was a valuable experience for both my thesis and professional growth!»
Kseniya Tserkovnyuk reflected: «The internship at the Institute for US and Canadian Studies turned out to be very useful and interesting. What I valued most was the opportunity to consult with experts in the field. Their insights and experience helped me in writing my graduation thesis and broadened my understanding of current issues and modern research approaches. I’m confident the knowledge and skills I’ve gained will benefit me in the future.»
Viktor Penkin also shared his experience: «Working with the country’s leading Americanists allowed me to approach my thesis research from an expert perspective. I had the chance to discuss numerous questions related to my topic of interest. I would like to express special thanks to Andrey Sergeyevich Evseenko for making our visit possible, as well as to my academic advisor, Demokrit Malkhazovich Zamanapulov, for his valuable mentorship.»
