On the 3rd of  April 2025, Lilia Khadorich, a representative of the E.M. Primakov Regional Center for the Development of Public Diplomacy and International Relations, presented the results of the Center’s work on the Ibero-American field in 2024 at the annual General Meeting of members of the Association of Researchers of the Ibero-American World (ROO “AIIM”) at the Institute of Latin America of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Director of the Latin American Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Shchetinin A.V., Scientific Director of the ILA RAS, President of the AIIM, Corresponding Member of the RAS Davydov V.M., Director of the ILA RAS, PhD Rosenthal D.M., other employees of the ILA RAS and colleagues from scientific centers and universities of Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kursk and Kazan took part in the work of the reporting event..

The experts held a scientific discussion on the topic “Changing the global context. Implications for Latin America.” And they raised a number of pressing questions that experts will have to find answers to in order to increase the effectiveness of Russian foreign policy in the Latin American area.

ILA RAS presented book editions published under its auspices in 2024. One of these publications, “Mexico: the Legacy of A.M. Lopez Obrador on the agenda of the presidency of K. Sheinbaum” from the “Summit” series, will soon replenish the library of the E.M. Primakov Regional Center for the Development of Public Diplomacy and International Relations.

The editors-in-chief of three specialized magazines “Latin America”, “Iberoamerica” and “Iberoamerican Notebooks” also spoke about their periodicals. And colleagues from the AIIM regional centers highlighted the achievements and prospects of their work.

Concluding the meeting, the President of the Association, Vladimir Mikhailovich Davydov, noted with satisfaction that the geography of Latin American studies in Russia is expanding and called on colleagues to cooperate more actively to further popularize professional research in the Ibero-American world.
