On June 6, 2025, the XXX scientific and practical conference “Teaching languages and cultures in the paradigm of digital transformation: preserving traditions, introducing innovations, expanding horizons” was held at the Samara National Research University named after Academician S.P. Korolev.

The aim of the conference is to promote the improvement of the quality of teaching foreign languages and Russian as a foreign language in the national system of continuous education.

At the plenary session of the conference, Associate Professor of the Department of Chinese, Vietnamese, Burmese, Thai, Lao and Khmer Language T.A. Uryvskaya gave a remote presentation on “Letter-Based Words of the Chinese Language”.

 The report focused on issues of graphic and phonetic integration of alphabetic vocabulary, correct interpretation of meanings, as well as challenges faced by senior students of Chinese studies when working with such vocabulary during reading and translation of original Chinese texts in socio-political discourse
