A fourth-year student of the International Relations program at Samara University, Elnura Magamedovna Garayeva, took part in the international scientific conference “Humanitarian Cooperation of Asia-Pacific Countries,” organized by the Center for Scientific Monitoring and Development of the Institute of China and the Contemporary Asia of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
This conference took place during the internship of Elnura Garayeva and Polina Yudaeva at the ICCA RAS, organized by the Primakov Centre (Samara).
The conference, dedicated to the situation in the countries of the Asia-Pacific region, considered issues of humanitarian cooperation between them, including the spheres of cultural, educational, scientific, sports, and tourism interaction. – Particular attention was paid to the humanitarian ties of the Russian Federation with other countries of the Asia-Pacific. Participants from different countries, especially from Thailand, Malaysia, China, Vietnam, and Russia, presented their research.
Elnura Garayeva gave a presentation on the topic “The Russian language as an instrument of soft power of the Russian Federation in the PRC,” emphasizing the role of the Russian language in strengthening international and humanitarian ties, as well as in building a positive image of Russia in the international environment.
“In recent years, the issue of studying the Russian language in China has become more important than ever in light of the development of economic and cultural relations between the two countries. In our work, we decided to try to understand how effectively the Russian language is used as a tool of soft power, as well as how well it works in China. The results of the study became the reason for searching for new mechanisms for popularizing the Russian language in China. I believe that there is no limit to perfection for the development and deeper interaction between the two states – Russia and China,” Elnura shared her opinion.
Based on the results of the conference, it is planned to publish a collection of conference abstracts, which will be posted in the Russian Science Citation Index.
