A third-year student of the “International Relations” program at Samara University, Anastasia Fathutdinova, completed an internship at the ASEAN Centre at MGIMO University of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The internship was organized by the E.M. Primakov Centre.
During the internship, Anastasia took part in the meeting held on April 24, 2025, between MGIMO Vice-Rector for Research A.A. Baikov, Director of the ASEAN Centre at MGIMO E.V. Koldunova, ASEAN Centre staff, and representatives of the delegation from Srinakharinwirot University (Thailand). As part of the internship’s cultural program, visits to the MGIMO Museum and the Museum of Rare Books were also organized.
The E.M. Primakov Centre and the ASEAN Centre at MGIMO maintain active cooperation. On April 16, 2025, the staff of the ASEAN Centre delivered a guest lecture at Samara University, where they spoke about the latest trends in Southeast Asia, the economic and cultural characteristics of the region’s countries, and the English-language Master’s program at MGIMO: “Politics and Economics of Strategic Partnership: Russia – ASEAN.” On May 15, 2025, ASEAN Centre activists, MGIMO Master’s students Preap Chantarith and Raisya Rahmawati (1st year, Politics and Economics of Strategic Partnership: Russia – ASEAN), took part in the Samara Interregional Model UN 2025.
Anastasia Fathutdinova about the internship: “Interning at the ASEAN Centre at MGIMO University of the Russian MFA was an incredibly valuable experience for me. It was a great opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in practice and improve my communication skills. Moreover, I received helpful advice and insights from the ASEAN Centre staff that will assist me in writing course papers and my graduation thesis.”
