Anna Alexeevna Velikaya, Ph.D. in Political Science, Senior Researcher at IMEMO RAS, presented a report on “The Role of Russian Sports Diplomacy in Strengthening International Dialogue.” She emphasized that sport serves as an effective tool for overcoming political differences and building trust between nations. Anna Alexeevna provided specific examples of successful Russian sports diplomacy initiatives from different historical periods.
Anna Nikolaevna Subbotina, President of the “Community of Sports Diplomacy” Autonomous Nonprofit Organization, spoke about the “BRICS+ International Youth Forum. Sports Diplomacy. Results and Development Prospects.” She shared outcomes from the forum, which became a platform for exchanging experiences and ideas among young leaders from BRICS+ countries in sports diplomacy. Anna Nikolaevna outlined prospects for developing youth cooperation in this field.
Kira Viktorovna Tabunova, Expert at the ASEAN Center of MGIMO University under the Russian Foreign Ministry, delivered a report titled “Southeast Asian Games: The Multifaceted Nature of Traditions and Regional Unity.” She discussed the distinctive features of sports games in the ASEAN region, which serve as an important tool for strengthening regional identity and cultural exchange.
