On the 10th of April 2025, the Samara Regional Universal Scientific Library (Lenin Avenue, 14A) hosted the grand opening of an exhibition dedicated to the history and achievements of Russia’s rocket and space industry. The event gathered many guests interested in space exploration and the Samara region’s contribution to this great history.

The exhibition, organised by the E.M. Primakov Centre (Samara University) together with the Archive of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the leading enterprises of the region – RSC Progress JSC and ODK-Kuznetsov PJSC – was a real immersion into the past and present of the space age.

Mikhail Mikhailovich Leonov, Vice-Rector for Educational Work and Youth Policy of Samara University, made a welcoming speech at the opening of the exhibition. Alexander Viktorovich Rabotkevich, Director of the Archive of the Russian Academy of Sciences, also sent a welcoming address. The atmosphere was filled with pride for the achievements of national cosmonautics and gratitude to those who dedicated their lives to the exploration of outer space.

️ In the hall of the ground floor of the library there was an exposition, which was a unique collection of archival materials. Visitors could see:

  • Photographs capturing key moments in the history of space exploration.
  • Letters revealing personal stories of scientists and engineers who stood at the origins of space achievements.
  • Working documentation that gives a glimpse into the process of creating rockets and spacecraft.
  • Special attention is paid to the contribution of scientists and engineers from the Samara region to the conquest of space. The exhibition became a tribute to those who with their knowledge, labour and talent brought closer the dream of mankind about flights to the stars.

We thank the Samara Regional Universal Scientific Library for this opportunity!

We invite residents and guests of Samara to visit it and touch the history of great achievements!
