Hooray! The project of the Primakov Centre at Samara University to implement the educational forum “Russia and France: A Dialogue of (Visual) Cultures” has won support!
This exciting project is dedicated to the study and promotion of the rich heritage of Russian-French cultural exchange. The forum will offer discussions on various aspects of interaction between the cultures of Russia and France, particularly during the most active period of political and cultural cooperation at the turn of the 19th–20th centuries.
The main focus will be on visual culture and historical memory. Researchers emphasize that cultural dialogue remains a key factor both in shaping a country’s image and in transforming relationships between peoples — from alienation to interest, from separation to cooperation.
The implementation of this ambitious project became possible thanks to the coordinated work of the Samara University team, as well as support from our partner, the Russian House of Culture and Science in Paris (Rossotrudnichestvo).
We are confident that the forum “Russia and France: A Dialogue of (Visual) Cultures” will become a vibrant cultural event and will contribute to the strengthening of international cooperation.
