On May 7, 2025, an important and informative lecture took place, dedicated to one of the pressing topics of the upcoming session of the Samara Interregional UN Model – the fight against the glorification of Nazism.

We express our gratitude to our lecturer, Mikhail Sergeyevich Chirkov, Associate Professor of the Department of National History and Historiography at Samara University, Candidate of Historical Sciences, for his in-depth analysis and balanced coverage of the issue.

The speaker examined complex political, economic, and ideological factors that led to a global conflict. The lecture addressed the following topics:

  • Historical prerequisites and modern manifestations of the glorification of Nazism.
  • International legal norms and UN resolutions aimed at combating this phenomenon.
  • Various approaches and strategies of states in countering the glorification of Nazism.

Thanks to the lecture, delegates gained valuable knowledge and tools for effective participation in discussions. Many noted the usefulness of the historical report and analysis of the current situation. It was emphasized that it is important to remember the lessons of the past and to resist any attempts to revise history and justify Nazi ideology.
Thank you to everyone who joined us!

We remind you that the Samara Interregional UN Model is held with the support of the Coordination Center of Samara University.
