On May 13, 2025, School № 116 named after Hero of the Soviet Union I. V. Panfilov hosted the citywide festival “Young Diplomat.”

As part of the festival, Veronika Petrovna Pudovkina, a staff member of the Regional Center for the Development of Public Diplomacy and International Relations named after E. M. Primakov, gave a lecture for students on the topic “Who is a diplomat?”

During the lecture, participants of the festival learned about:

  • the main areas of diplomats’ work;
  • which educational paths to choose in order to become a diplomat;
  • how to become involved in international relations in Samara and the Samara region;
  • the key educational projects of the Primakov Centre.

The lecture also helped students successfully complete the final game “Model UN” by analyzing an environmental agenda from a diplomatic perspective.

As a reminder, this year, in honor of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the Samara Interregional Model UN was held at the Primakov Centre on May 15. Students from School No. 116 took part in the event and applied the knowledge they had gained in practice!

After the lecture, students actively asked the speaker questions and showed interest in the activities of the Primakov Centre (Samara), which are relevant and engaging for schoolchildren.
