The Primakov Center hosted a vibrant and unforgettable “Dialogue of Cultures” festival. Guests enjoyed participating in master classes, tastings, and other interactive programs from the Center’s clubs, but most importantly, they were able to save Father Frost from a virus!

At IberAClub, participants discussed the history of Machu Picchu, the mysterious city of the Incas, its origin, and its heyday. The cultural significance of Machu Picchu for the Peruvian people and the world was discussed. It was noted that Machu Picchu is a symbol of the Inca civilization and an important UNESCO World Heritage Site. Participants were also able to learn many new Spanish words that are very similar to Russian.

Together with EnglishClub, students sang Christmas carols with Santa Claus himself in Trafalgar Square. We even discussed classic hits such as “Jingle Bells”, “Silent Night”, “Let It Snow!” and other popular songs. Christmas carols created a unique festive mood and allowed us to immerse ourselves in the atmosphere of Christmas and New Year.

Strolling through the European streets, we suddenly wandered along with DerKlub to the Nürnberger Christkindlmarkt. Particular attention was paid to the symbols and attributes of the Nuremberg Christmas Market, such as the Christkind (Christmas Angel), Lebkuchen (gingerbread), Bratwurst (grilled sausages), and Glühwein (mulled wine). Participants learned about their meaning and role in the Christmas tradition.

Rich medieval castles, knights, kings and queens, ancient caves, the picturesque villages of Perigord, all this and more was told to us by FranClub. During the station’s work, we learned many new French words and expressions.

“Magic East.
Here charms and revenge,
Courage and honor.
Palaces and sand.
O wondrous East!
O fabulous land!” (song “Arabian Nights”)

TurkishClub introduced us to a real sultan from the Magnificent Century, and treated us to lokum and pişmaniye. Turkey is not just a country, it is a whole fairy tale come to life. The magical bazaar of Cappadocia, where East meets West, awaits you with not only delicious treats, but also real magicians. On the coast of the Aegean and Mediterranean seas, azure waves wash golden beaches, and in the mountains you can find secluded villages where time flows slowly

From warm Turkey, together with SinoClub, we went to the icy labyrinths of Harbin. Imagine sparkling ice palaces, giant sculptures shimmering with all the colors of the rainbow, and labyrinths of ice blocks, created with incredible skill. The Harbin Ice and Snow Festival is not just an exhibition, it is a journey into a fairy tale where cold becomes magic.
The festival ended with a parade of Father Frosts!

At the end of the festival, the winners were awarded in the following categories:
Sergey Fedorov in the Weihnachtsmann costume was recognized as the “Best Father Frost”.
Ivan Sivkov and Eva Makhno became the “Most Active Participants”.

The intercultural festival “Dialogue of Cultures” was a vivid example of how different cultures can harmoniously coexist and enrich each other!
