On November 28, 2022, an agreement on cooperation was signed between Samara University and the Georgy Arbatov Institute for U.S. and Canada Studies, Russian Academy of Sciences. On behalf of Samara University, the Regional Centre for the Development of Public Diplomacy and International Relations, The Primakov Centre will participate in the implementation of joint projects. The document provides for educational and academic exchange, internships, practical training, participation in conferences, preparation and publication of scientific articles.
The signing ceremony took place at the Regional Centre for the Development of Public Diplomacy and International Relations, The Primakov Centre in Samara.

The agreement with a well-known academic institute will enable students of international relations at Samara University to continuously improve their qualifications, noted University Rector Vladimir Bogatyrev during the ceremony. “Today, students of international relations at Samara University are studying at the undergraduate level. We plan to open master’s and then postgraduate programs in this field.
The agreement will allow us to send our students to Moscow for internships — academic, pre-diploma, production-based — as well as for various seminars and conferences.
Researchers from the Institute will also come to Samara to conduct classes, training sessions, and give public lectures,” — he said.

Valery Garbuzov, corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, noted that the Institute is interested in fostering new generations of international specialists with extensive professional knowledge.
“We would like students, after graduation, to continue their research activities, work in the field of international relations, and follow in our footsteps. The Institute has agreements with a number of universities, and we actively develop joint scientific and educational activities — we conduct consultations, lectures, both online and offline. Our researchers have extensive teaching experience, and it is extremely important for us to pass on this knowledge to the younger generation,” — he said.
As part of the ceremony, participants and Samara University faculty members took part in a roundtable discussion “Russia and America in a Time of Global Turbulence” within the framework of the conference for young scholars “World Economy and International Relations: Dialogue of Cultures and Civilizations.”
They also got acquainted with the activities of the Regional Centre for the Development of Public Diplomacy and International Relations, The Primakov Centre and gave public lectures for Samara University students.
