In December 2020 the Regional Centre of the Development of Public Diplomacy and International Relations named after Yevgeniy M. Primakov was established by Samara National Research University named after Academician S.P. Korolev (Samara University) as a subdivision of the university.

The initiative to create the Center was put forward by the senator from the Samara region in the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Farit Mukhametshin together with the President of Samara University Viktor Soifer.
